On December 1, 2025 Sixty will start our annual Winter Slowdown, an eight-week pause from the typical pace of our daily work. During this time, we will not be reviewing new pitches, collaboration proposals, or other requests. We will be clearing our calendars of meetings, obligations, and hard deadlines as much as we possibly can until January 6. We will continue to publish on our website and social media during this period, although with a slower cadence. Then, in January, we will slowly ease into the year, working our way back to inboxes and calendars. We will officially reopen for pitches on January 5th, 2026<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our annual Winter Slowdown was created because many of Sixty\u2019s beloved contributors and\u00a0 staff belong to communities targeted by US oppression, and we recognize many of us often miss the opportunity to truly rest and recalibrate. By embracing this season of hibernation and incubation and spending time with our loved ones, we replenish our strength and stamina for the ongoing struggle.\u00a0

This year, we\u2019re keeping our Slowdown message short-and-sweet to redirect our energy to urgent projects, such as maintaining our Resources for Solidarity<\/em><\/strong><\/a> \u2014 a new, growing list of more than 200 resources for community self-defense, basic needs, solidarity, creative caretaking, and organizing within the Chicagoland area.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we’re resting this winter, you can keep in touch with us all year long by subscribing to our monthly newsletter<\/strong><\/a>, where we share highlights of recent publishing, announcements, opportunities for artists and arts workers, and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
